Ben Price of Grocontinental recipient of the 2019 GCCA European Cold Chain Future Leader Award

The Global Cold Chain Alliance (GCCA) is proud to announce the recipient of the 2019 GCCA European Cold Chain Future Leader Award - Ben Price, Commercial Manager, Grocontinental, an AGRO Merchants Group company. The award was presented by Corey Rosenbusch, President and CEO of GCCA, and Doug Harrison, Chairman of the International Association of Refrigerated Warehouses (IARW), a Core Partner of GCCA, during the recent GCCA European Cold Chain Conference in Brussels, Belgium where over 120 temperature-controlled logistics professionals gathered together to share experiences and best practices, build relationships and meet with industry suppliers.

"I’m proud to be recognized as a future leader in the Cold Chain industry by receiving this award,” said Price. “This was an amazing experience for me, and I really appreciated the opportunity to learn, grow, meet new people, and represent the company I work for.

The GCCA Future Leader Award recognizes talented young professionals who have the potential to become future leaders and make a positive contribution to the development of the global temperature-controlled warehousing and logistics industry. Among other eligibility requirements for the award, nominees had to demonstrate excellence in their work, the potential to excel further in the many facets within the industry and possess insight into their organization’s strategic values and direction, policies and ways of working.

Price competed for the award with Andrew Lawrence, Site Director of Rick Bestwick Chesterfield. As part of the selection process, each nominee was interviewed and judged by a panel of industry leaders from around the world. Candidates were evaluated on their knowledge level of the industry, track record of excellence, communication skills, and leadership skills. In addition, each candidate delivered a short presentation to the panel of judges and the GCCA European Cold Chain Conference attendees.

Price will compete with other young leaders from around the world for the global GCCA NextGen Award at the Global Cold Chain Expo, taking place 10-12 June 2019 in Chicago IL.

“GCCA is committed to recognizing the next generation of leaders through the GCCA Future Leader and the GCCA Global NextGen Award programs,” Rosenbusch stated. “The emerging leaders within the Cold Chain never cease to impress me – both Ben and Andrew are respected as leaders among their peers and are examples of the quality talent that our industry possesses.
