CoolKit Partners with pbx to Revolutionize Sustainable Refrigerated Transport in the UK

CoolKit, the UK’s leading specialist in temperature-controlled light commercial vehicles (LCVs), has been appointed as the sole UK distributor for Austrian refrigeration innovator pbx. This partnership brings cutting-edge refrigeration technology to UK fleet operators, with a focus on sustainability and efficiency for electric LCVs.

Innovative Refrigeration for Electric Vehicles

Unveiled at the Cold Chain Hub by TCS&D, the collaboration centers around pbx’s advanced ecos M24 refrigeration unit, showcased in the first Ford E-Transit Custom conversion. Designed specifically for electric LCVs, pbx units offer unmatched benefits in weight, energy efficiency, and eco-friendly performance, marking a significant step forward in refrigerated transportation.

Key Features and Benefits of pbx Systems

  • Lightweight Design: At only 39kg, pbx units are up to 50% lighter than traditional systems, offering a crucial payload advantage for electric fleets.
  • Plug-and-Play Installation: The compact units can be installed in under three hours, minimizing setup time.
  • Eco-Friendly Refrigerant: pbx systems use R290, an organic refrigerant with a Global Warming Potential (GWP) of 3, drastically lower than conventional refrigerants like R452a (GWP of 1,945).
  • Energy Efficiency: The systems conserve power by requiring only up to 7% of an electric vehicle’s traction battery per day, eliminating the need for additional batteries.Strategic Alignment for a Sustainable Future
Both CoolKit and pbx share a commitment to sustainability and future-proofing transport solutions. As approved suppliers for major Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), their partnership is a natural fit for advancing electric mobility in the temperature-controlled transport sector.

Revolutionizing Refrigerated Transport

Fleet operators across the UK now have exclusive access to pbx’s innovative refrigeration systems through CoolKit. With advanced features and a sustainable design philosophy, this partnership sets a new standard for temperature-controlled transportation, offering businesses the tools they need to meet environmental targets while improving operational efficiency.

CoolKit’s distribution of pbx units positions the company at the forefront of sustainable refrigerated transport, driving progress in electrification and eco-friendly innovation.
