Logistics provider DACHSER is enhancing its operations in the Leipzig-Halle area with a new 25,000-pallet space warehouse, set to commence operations in early 2025. Located in the Landsberg industrial park near the DACHSER Logistics Center Leipzig/Halle, this 17,200-square-meter facility will serve various sectors by storing industrial, consumer, and food goods.
The warehouse, currently under construction, will feature three temperature zones suitable for storing products between +2 and +7 degrees Celsius, +12 and +18 degrees Celsius, and at room temperature. "We have been a reliable logistics partner for over 30 years, especially for the chocolate and confectionery industry," said Matthias Ziegenhagen, General Manager of the Leipzig/Halle Logistics Center in Landsberg. "About 30 percent of our stored goods are from the chocolate sector, reflecting our logistics expertise."
Situated in the Leipzig-Halle conurbation, the new facility benefits from excellent infrastructure connections, including proximity to the A9 and A14 motorways and Leipzig/Halle Airport, around 25 kilometers away. This strategic location enables DACHSER to efficiently distribute goods throughout Germany and Europe and access global markets.
Built with state-of-the-art safety and environmental standards, the warehouse features a photovoltaic system on the roof, IT-based technology, and driverless transport vehicles for full-pallet movements. The facility also includes LED lighting and electric charging points for trucks and employee vehicles. "Expanding our logistics center not only supports regional economic development but also creates new jobs," added Ziegenhagen.
