The Dearman Hubbard zero emission transport refrigeration unit (TRU) will feature at the 67th IAA Commercial Vehicle show in Hanover, Germany, from 20-27th September 2018.
The pioneering dual temperature system will be demonstrated on a Paneltex refrigerated semi-trailer at the Open-air Section Stand FG D99.
The International Motor Show, for commercial vehicles, takes place every other year. In 2016, it drew 250,000 visitors and over 2,000 exhibitors from 52 countries.
This is the biggest trade show in the world for commercial vehicles, and with many countries facing an air pollution problem, it will be a chance for us to show that we can be part of the solution for them.
Existing diesel TRUs are lightly regulated and can emit up to 29 times as much pollution as a Euro 6 truck engine. Replacing these disproportionately polluting auxiliary engines with a zero-emission alternative such as Dearman’s will immediately improve local air quality.
Keen followers of Dearman will know that our system was recently taken on a six-month trial by Unilever in the Benelux, who hailed the trial as “a resounding success”. UK supermarket giants Sainsbury’s has also used the Dearman TRU in its fleet and it is currently also being used by Marks & Spencer.
A number of major European food retail and logistics companies have also expressed an interest in testing Dearman’s innovative cooling system. Our system is zero emission, cost effective and very quiet, and so we are confident of meeting the needs of fleet operators.
Urban logistics was a major theme of the 2016 show and, with increasing pressure to tackle air pollution from all sources, it has very much remained on the agenda. So we look forward to welcoming fleet operators who want to get ahead of the toughening climate for diesel and want to clean up their operations.
