Schmitz Cargobull Receives Sustainability Seal for Telematics Solutions

For the third time, Schmitz Cargobull subsidiary Cargobull Telematics GmbH has been awarded the "Assured Sustainability" seal by the German Institute for Sustainability & Economy. The award recognizes the company's commitment to sustainability in the areas of ecology, economy, and social competence.

This certification, previously received in 2021 and 2023, confirms that Cargobull Telematics operates with exemplary sustainability practices and economically sustainable processes. The certification process included on-site audits to verify the company's performance in areas such as environmental responsibility, energy management, social engagement, and regionality.

The certified TrailerConnect telematics system is a key part of Cargobull Telematics’ sustainability strategy. The system uses high-quality sensors to monitor and transmit critical data - such as temperature, tyre pressure, brake performance, and axle load - to a central platform. This real-time data allows fleet managers to optimize vehicle maintenance and routing, contributing to improved efficiency and safety.

Controlled data exchange within TrailerConnect enables seamless sharing of information with various partners across the supply chain. This feature helps transport companies meet high sustainability standards and enhances their competitiveness in public tenders and audits, such as those for ISO 14001 environmental management, ISO 50001 energy management, and ISO 16247 energy audits.

Fleet operators with a certified TrailerConnect system can also offer proof of sustainability to consignors, improving their chances of securing contracts that require such documentation.

With over 20 years of experience and more than 110,000 active telematics units across Europe, Cargobull Telematics GmbH plays a significant role in the transport industry’s digital transformation. As a wholly owned subsidiary of Schmitz Cargobull AG, the company provides trailer telematics services and develops its own hardware and software solutions, tailored to the needs of transport and fleet management processes.
