Thermo King e200 Receives Top Product Award

The 2022 Top 20 Products were chosen by a three-person panel of the trucking industry’s most experienced editors with the help of a panel of fleet representatives drawn from our Editorial Advisory Board and HDT Truck Fleet Innovators. Editor in Chief Deborah Lockridge has been covering trucking since 1990. Equipment Editor Jim Park has been covering trucking since 1998 and was a driver and owner-operator for 20 years before that. Senior Contributing Editor Jack Roberts has been covering trucking since 1995.

The HDT editorial team reviews new products they reported on in 2011 and selected those that stood out in three areas:
  • Innovation
  • Ability to address important industry issues
  • Potential to improve a fleet’s bottom line
The e200 is an all-electric transport refrigeration unit designed by Thermo King for small and medium-size vans and trucks and received the Top 20 Product Award for its innovation in helping put sustainability at the heart of any fleet operation.
Designed for both electric and engine-powered vehicles, the e200 can help ensure fleet operations remain compliant with a growing array of regional and national regulations concerning the reduction of noise and CO2 emissions.

It also introduced the use of R452A refrigerant, which has a lower global warming potential (GWP). This means fleets can confidently meet current and future sustainability targets and regulations throughout the cold chain.

The e200 is part of the Thermo King all-electric portfolio, called evolve.
The evolve portfolio aligns with our customers’ goals to transition to more sustainable solutions for their fleets and will help advance Trane Technologies’ 2030 Sustainability Commitments, including its Gigaton Challenge to reduce customer greenhouse gas emissions by 1 billion metric tons.
