Carrier China has been chosen by FAW-Volkswagen, a joint venture between China FAW Corporation and Volkswagen, to supply full inverter variable refrigerant flow (VRF) systems to the employee dormitory of its East China base. Located in Qingdao, this dormitory covers an area of approximately 20,000 square meters and is expected to house more than 8,000 employees. Carrier China is a part of Carrier, a world leader in high-technology heating, air-conditioning and refrigeration solutions, a part of UTC Climate, Controls & Security, a unit of United Technologies Corp.
Carrier China will provide a series of X-Power full inverter VRF systems whose capacity totals more than 1,200 horsepower. These systems offer improved design flexibility for better aesthetics and are highly efficient with an Integrated Part Load Value (IPLV) of 8.2, far above the national energy efficiency standard. The wide operating range and stable performance make these an ideal choice to create a comfortable environment for employees away from work.
"A good building system should keep people comfortable and healthy while still being efficient. We are more than delighted to see that FAW-Volkswagen has recognized the importance of this and turned to Carrier to create a well-controlled indoor environment for their employees," said Yinghua Zhu, light commercial sales director, Carrier China.
As the fifth campus of FAW-Volkswagen in China, the East China base was first unveiled in November 2014 and will reach its full capacity in 2018 with an annual output of 300,000 sedan and SUV units. This base is a key provincial project supervised by the State Council as well as the largest investment project won by Qingdao Municipal People's Government in the last three years.
