ebm-papst will celebrate the opening of its second production plant at the Landshut location on 6 October. The market leader in fans and motors has reinforced its presence in the region and its on-site employment. The new plant will primarily produce products for heating technology.
In 2013 ebm-papst expanded its Landshut location with an ultra-modern logistics center. Immediately afterward and in less than one year, a new production plant was built in which the technology pioneer has invested about EUR 14m. Dynamic growth in the heating technology sector has inspired the new construction. New EU directives stipulate environmentally-friendly heating plants, thereby spurring demand for more efficient components. "For quite some time we have been preparing for the technology shift in condensing technology. Our gas blowers and valves set new standards in energy efficiency", said Stefan Brandl, CEO of ebm-papst Landshut. The new location has the company well prepared for expected growth of more than 30 percent in the next 5 years.
The production plant, covering an area of about 5,000 m², has been built in accordance with the Group's GreenTech guidelines to be especially sustainable and to preserve resources. It has been designed for well over 100 employees and contains rooms for administration and development, in addition to the manufacturing space. A direct connection to the logistics center enables optimal exchange of materials and products.
Rainer Hundsdörfer, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the ebm-papst Group, confirmed: "This investment will help us meet the ever-growing demand for energy efficient products in heating. At the same time, building another plant in Landshut sends a message that we are here for the long term". The plant was inaugurated on Tuesday during an opening ceremony attended by business and political leaders.
