Energy Recovery Highlights PX G1300 Performance in CO2 Refrigeration
Energy Recovery, Inc. has reported impressive performance data for its PX G1300 pressure exchanger. Successfully integrated into CO2 refrigeration systems, the PX G1300 reduces energy consumption while enhancing cooling capacity and system stability.

CO2 refrigeration offers a sustainable alternative to hydrofluorocarbon (HFC) systems due to its non-toxic nature and low global warming potential. Although CO2 systems are typically more energy-efficient than HFC-based ones, they lose efficiency in hot weather, leading to higher electricity costs. Traditional solutions using water face challenges like cost and maintenance.

The PX G1300 addresses these issues by boosting energy efficiency and cooling capacity without water. Results reveal up to a 30% improvement in energy efficiency (coefficient of performance) and a 15% increase in projected annual energy savings. Additionally, the PX G1300 enhances cooling capacity by up to 15% at 95°F (35°C), ensuring operational resilience during heatwaves.

Ricardo Freitas, Vice President of CO2 at Energy Recovery, expressed the company's commitment: "With the PX G1300, our customers gain year-round energy savings and enhanced system capacity for protection against heatwaves and climate change."

The PX G1300, inspired by Energy Recovery's desalination technologies, offers a straightforward, cost-effective energy-saving solution for transitioning to sustainable CO2 refrigeration systems.
