Johnson Controls Expands Community College Partnership Program with Renewed Grants
Johnson Controls, a global leader in smart, healthy, and sustainable buildings, has announced renewed grants to 30 community colleges in North America as part of its Community College Partnership Program. Now in its fourth year, the program aims to support students from historically underrepresented groups in pursuing careers in sustainable building practices. Each college will receive grants valued up to $100,000 to enhance programming in HVAC, fire, security, or digital fields.

The initiative, launched in 2021, has significantly impacted North American communities. During the 2023-2024 school year alone, 3,868 students enrolled in educational programs, 655 scholarships were awarded, and Johnson Controls team members tracked 428 volunteer hours. These efforts have provided valuable industry exposure and mentorship to students, contributing to their academic and career success while alleviating financial stress.

One program participant highlighted the transformative impact, stating that the scholarship grant motivated them to pursue a career as an energy management controls technician, demonstrating Johnson Controls' commitment to fostering talent in the industry.

By 2026, Johnson Controls aims to donate up to $15 million through the Community College Partnership Program, further expanding educational opportunities in HVAC, fire, security, and digital disciplines.
