Samsung will feature WindFree Cooling technology at 2022 AHR Expo

At the event  Samsung will showcase innovative residential, light commercial and commercial systems.

Residential

Samsung’s exclusive WindFree* Cooling technology provides end-users with a cool indoor climate and optimal energy efficiency without the discomfort of direct cold airflow. Samsung has expanded its offering of WindFree™ residential systems by introducing the WindFree™* 2.0e, which includes smart operation and voice control.

WindFree* 2.0e models are Wi-Fi enabled allowing voice control with Bixby 2.0 and monitoring from anywhere with an internet connection through Samsung’s SmartThings app. Users can remotely regulate temperature, adjust settings, automate unit functions, receive real time updates about operation and daily energy usage, as well as troubleshoot solutions when a repair is needed.

In addition, the WindFree* 2.0e indoor unit model numbers are compatible with Samsung’s residential single-zone and Free Joint Multi (FJM) multi-zone systems to simplify Samsung’s product portfolio and reducing the overall number of SKUs to manage.

Light Commercial

Samsung’s new Light Commercial (CAC) single-zone systems now offer 9 types of indoor units, ranging from 9,000 to 48,000 Btu/h, to provide solutions for almost any application.

With increasing decarbonization and electrification efforts, Samsung put a strong emphasis on high cooling performance, heating capacity, efficiency ratings and features.  Many systems are Energy Star® certified and qualify for numerous energy rebates and programs including NEEP.

Select capacities provide 100% heating capacity at -4°F (-20°C), high heating operation down to -13°F (-25°C) and feature an integral base pan heater to promote optimal water drainage during defrost cycles.

In addition, most indoor unit models are compatible with Free Joint Multi (FJM) multi-zone systems and Light Commercial (CAC) single-zone systems to simplify Samsung’s product portfolio and reducing the overall number of SKUs to manage.

Commercial

DVM S2 is the latest generation of Samsung VRF systems boasting industry leading efficiencies and heating and cooling performance. Systems range in capacity from 6 to 44 tons in both heat pump and heat recovery configurations and will support up to 64 indoor units per system.

The DVM S2 features Artificial Intelligence (AI) with Deep Neural Network algorithms to optimize system operation with high and low pressure control, defrost cycle activation and operation, and low refrigerant monitoring.

Samsung’s AI technology allows the equipment to operate at exact target pressures and temperatures based on the actual application to save energy.

The DVM S2 features a simplified chassis design and integral inverter check function that eliminates the need for a separate tool to validate inverter operation for easier serviceability.

*The WindFree unit delivers an air current that is under 0.15 m/s while in WindFree™ mode. Air velocity that is below 0.15 m/s is considered “still air” as defined by ASHRAE 55-2013 (American Society of Heating, Refrigerating, and Air-Conditioning Engineers).
