SPIE, a European provider of multi-technical services in energy and communications, has acquired Voets & Donkers Koeltechniek B.V. and VND Technical Services B.V. in the Netherlands. The acquisition strengthens SPIE’s capabilities in industrial refrigeration, air handling systems, heat pumps, automation, and process equipment engineering.
Established in 1963, Voets & Donkers operates with 69 employees across two sites in Schijndel and Drachten. The company specializes in the development, production, and installation of cooling and air treatment systems, and reported a turnover of €30 million in 2024. Its customer base includes companies in the dairy, food processing, horticulture, pharmaceutical, warehousing, and high-tech machinery sectors.
SPIE sees significant growth opportunities in the food and pharmaceutical markets, particularly in refrigeration, freezing technologies, industrial heat pumps, and HVAC systems. “This acquisition also enables us to increase our visibility in refrigeration, freezing technology, industrial heat pumps and HVAC,” said Joti Hakkert, Director of SPIE’s Industry Services division.
Peter Donkers, co-owner of Voets & Donkers, welcomed the move: “With SPIE’s scale and strength behind us, we are even better equipped to respond to developments in our industry. By working together with SPIE’s experts and colleagues from other divisions, we can take our services to the next level.”
