Walter Roller celebrates 75th anniversary

Founded in 1946, 2021 is a very special year for Walter Roller GmbH & Co based in Gerlingen near Stuttgart. This year, the expert for air coolers and heat exchangers celebrates its 75th anniversary.

When Walter Roller founded his equally named company in 1946, he had already been working on the development of finned heat exchangers for 6 years in his parents' tinsmith's shop.  As a friend of well-known company founders in refrigeration industry such as Göldner, Baader, Bock and Schaufler, who had concentrated more on refrigeration machine engineering, Walter Roller experimented with the heat transfer of refrigerating capacity via various fin systems.

The initially craft-based business took off very quickly, not least due to repairs to refrigerators and cold stores for the American occupation troops stationed in the Baden-Württemberg area. Already in 1957, the company expanded with the building of a production hall at its current location in Stuttgart-Gerlingen and started to develop new, innovative products.
Up until now, Roller has been faithful to its initial idea, the construction of heat exchangers. Over the past 75 years, Roller has grown into a nationally and internationally recognised family business in its third generation with a great deal of dedication, willingness to invest, quality awareness and customer orientation.

Today, Roller is characterised above all by an exceptional flexibility and a wide range of products in the manufacture of heat exchangers, air coolers and air conditioning units. The wide performance range and perfectly fitting solutions for almost every application in refrigeration, air conditioning and ventilation technology will continue to inspire customers in the future.
