Danfoss has introduced three advanced digital tools aimed at improving system performance and streamlining workflow processes for engineers and contractors in the HVAC industry. The newly launched MyDrive Harmonics software, HEXSelector tool for microchannel heat exchangers (MCHE), and the EPLAN configurator for drive drawings offer enhanced accuracy, efficiency, and ease of use.
MyDrive Harmonics is a web-based simulation tool designed to simplify harmonic analysis for electrical systems. It helps engineers assess and mitigate harmonic distortion in HVAC drives by simulating distortion levels such as THDi, THVD, and TDD. The software supports compliance verification with regional standards, including IEEE 519 and EN 61000-2-4, and provides visual spectrum analysis to identify problem areas.
Engineers can test various harmonic mitigation solutions from Danfoss, comparing performance and cost-effectiveness. Unlike traditional tools with simplified calculations, MyDrive Harmonics offers precise predictions with ±5% accuracy. Key features include detailed compliance flexibility, hybrid mitigation configurations combining passive filters and active front-end drives, and true simulation capabilities beyond basic Excel-based methods.
Danfoss has expanded its HEXSelector software to include microchannel heat exchangers, simplifying the selection process for contractors and building owners. MCHE technology offers benefits such as lightweight construction and reduced refrigerant charge, but proper sizing has been a challenge. The software update addresses this issue, helping users identify the best match for their systems.
With an intuitive interface, the tool speeds up project timelines, reduces operational costs, and improves energy efficiency. Features include quick selection options, exportable datasheets, integration with third-party software, built-in guides, and a customer module for saving and sharing calculations.
Danfoss has introduced a new configurator within the EPLAN Electric P8 system, enabling faster and more efficient generation of drive drawings. The tool simplifies product selection and adapts EPLAN data (EDZ files) within minutes, significantly reducing the time required for configuration.
The software is fully integrated with EPLAN Electric P8, allowing seamless comparison with other component manufacturers. A drag-and-drop interface enhances ease of use, aligning with Danfoss’ existing configuration platforms. The initial version supports iC7-Automation frequency converters up to 43 A, with future updates planned to expand compatibility to additional product variants.
These new digital tools reinforce Danfoss’ commitment to optimizing HVAC system performance and efficiency, providing engineers with advanced solutions for design, analysis, and compliance.
