Kaltra offers reengineered Turbocor-based chillers
With the launch of Powerstream Turbo II water-cooled chillers this month, Kaltra extends and improves its portfolio for IT- and process cooling applications. In terms of energy efficiency, new chillers are a step ahead of mainstream units available on the market, far exceeding seasonal efficiency levels of EcoDesign 2021 specification.

When introduced in April 2018, the Powerstream Turbo has previously been available in capacities from 300kW to 4.5MW with R134a and R1234ze refrigerants, with R513a added later.

The new range, Powerstream Turbo II, will be launched with R1234ze in capacities of up to 2MW and extended to 4.5MW later in 2023.

Inheriting all advantages of its predecessor, the Powerstream Turbo II operates with supply water temperatures of up to 25°C and evaporator deltas up to 15°C, condenser water temperatures of as high as up to 55°C, and features lower noise emission levels (-15dB(A) in lineup average).

Powerstream Turbo II’s set of options includes integrated sequence management with a dynamically selectable master unit and resource priority management, fast restart, refrigerant leak control, and built-in energy analysis software.
