AIRAH’s 2021 Conferences Call For Submissions

AIRAH has announced a comprehensive suite of conferences and forums for the 2021 calendar year.

With The Future of HVAC 2021 earmarked as the banner event, other conferences to be hosted include Refrigeration 2021, the Commissioning Virtual Forum 2021, the Big Data and Analytics Forum 2021, and the Building Physics Forum 2021.

AIRAH CEO Tony Gleeson, M.AIRAH, says AIRAH’s series of conferences is at the heart of its vision and mission.

“AIRAH’s conferences are an essential component of not just our member offer, but of our remit of building safer, healthier communities,” Gleeson says. “Whether they’re virtual or physical, our conferences serve the function of gathering the best minds and practitioners in our industry to share information, raise industry standards, and provide key networking opportunities.

“And although we found ways in 2020 to connect and share knowledge, many of us have missed the energy and connection of face-to-face events. We are also keen to hold in-person celebrations of the Institute’s Centenary in the months ahead. With this in mind, AIRAH has planned a dynamic program of conferences and forums for 2021.”

Refrigeration 2021 is slated for May17–18 in Melbourne. AIRAH’s annual refrigeration gathering tackles a broad swathe of topics related to the refrigeration industry. The two-day event features sessions reviewing the latest developments in legislation and technology, as well as specific case studies.

Organised by AIRAH’s newly formed Commissioning Special Technical Group, the inaugural Commissioning Virtual Forum 2021 will take place online on June 3. Bringing together leading industry experts, the forum will provide delegates with the opportunity to connect with peers while gaining understanding about optimising properly functioning and performing buildings. Presentation submissions close March 19.

Taking place in Melbourne on July 22 is the Big Data and Analytics Forum 2021. On the agenda is the discussion of emerging trends, and how we as an industry can improve operational efficiencies, in buildings and beyond. Presentation submissions close March 19.

Now in its fifth iteration, AIRAH’s Building Physics Forum 2021 delves deeply into constructed performance. This includes a building’s air movement, thermal performance, control of moisture, sensible and latent energy, acoustic performance, light, solar control, climate and biology. The Building Physics Forum is scheduled to take place in Brisbane over two days on October 12–13. Presentation submissions close March 26.

Australia’s premier annual conference for HVAC&R and building services professionals, and AIRAH’s major

conference, the two-dayThe Future of HVAC 2021, explores trends in the built environment related to HVAC and building services. Offering deep insights into where our industry is heading, the conference is slated for September 8–9 in Sydney. Presentation submissions close April 9.

To conclude the year’s formal events, the AIRAH Awards 2021 will return to celebrate our industry’s

high achievers, stand-out projects, and ground-breaking research. The AIRAH Awards gala is set for November 11 in Sydney.

“A lot of planning and consideration goes into the AIRAH conference calendar,” says AIRAH’s professional development manager Brendan Pejkovic. “Each event has a dedicated conference committee comprising leading senior figures from the discipline at hand. Whether it’s a live conference or virtual forum, we do our outmost to ensure the subject matter is useful and relevant, and that our events offer value for money.”
