The Australian Refrigeration Council will present the second biennial ARCtick Environment Award for Exemplary Refrigerant Management in the mobile sector at the Wire & Gas 2026 convention in Australia on August 1, 2026.
Nominations are made by ARC field officers following field engagement visits to thousands of Refrigerant Trading Authorisation holders across Australia. A judging panel determines the finalists and selects the winner.
In partnership with the Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water, ARC administers the ARCtick licensing scheme. The scheme licenses more than 114,000 individuals and businesses to use refrigerant gases scheduled under the Ozone Protection and Synthetic Greenhouse Gas Management Regulations 1995.
ARC field engagement officers visit nearly 10,000 RTAs across the country each year. ARC deputy CEO Susie O’Neill said the award reflects performance in permit compliance, including records for refrigerant bought, sold and recovered for destruction, and equipment lists covering recovery units, vacuum pumps, electronic leak detectors and cylinders.
“This award recognises those who set the benchmark for exemplary practice in refrigerant management. Meeting every requirement takes genuine effort and commitment, and this award acknowledges the individuals and businesses who go above and beyond,” O’Neill said.
ARC also recognises the stationary sector with the ARCtick Environment Award for Exemplary Refrigerant Management. This year’s stationary sector winner, Crafter Pty Ltd, based in South Australia, was announced at ARBS 2026, while the inaugural 2024 mobile sector winner was MF Auto Prestige.
