ASHRAE Announces Technical Program For Annual Conference in Toronto

ASHRAE has released is technical program and safety protocol for the 2022 ASHRAE Annual Conference, June 25-29 at the Sheraton Centre Hotel, Toronto. The full conference schedule is now available online and in the ASHRAE 365 app, and registration is open at ashrae.org/2022annual.

The five-day event includes eight conference tracks, over 80 sessions, tours, social experiences and industry-specific committee meetings. The conference will offer a full range of HVAC&R topics and explore emerging strategies to facilitate more collaborative approaches to achieving resilience and sustainability.

“The conference will focus on addressing the changes to buildings created by the pandemic and will present papers and programs that are pertinent to the future of the built environment, including decarbonization,” said conference chair Kristen Cetin. “Buildings continue to be critical to our everyday lives and as we continue to face climate extremes and natural disasters along with the aftermath of the pandemic, this conference will provide a sharing of knowledge to support improvements to our built environment.”

The conference includes both in-person and virtual options for attendees.

Technical program tracks include:

  • Fundamentals and Applications
  • HVAC&R Systems and Equipment
  • Research Summit
  • IAQ, Energy Use, Comfort and Health of Sustainable Buildings
  • Connected Buildings, Connected Communities
  • Buildings in the Aftermath of COVID-19
  • Professional Development and Education
  • Cold Climate Building System Design, Operation and Resilience

The ASHRAE Learning Institute will offer 10 courses during the conference. All courses are approved for continuing education credits toward maintaining P.E. licensure.

In addition to honors and award recognitions, updates from Society leaders and the installation of new officers, incoming ASHRAE President Farooq Mehboob will present his inaugural address on the 2022-23 Society theme, “Securing Our Future.”

As part of ASHRAE’s Commitment to Care, ASHRAE will provide complimentary, onsite COVID-19 testing at the Sheraton Centre Toronto (headquarter hotel) for registered, international attendees. This testing is intended to offer convenience for return travel to countries requiring negative tests. ASHRAE is committed to the health and safety of our members and conference attendees and is closely monitoring guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the World Health Organization, and local health agencies regarding travel and entry into Canada. Registration includes:

  • Access to technical program from Sunday, June 26 – Wednesday, June 29 (seminars, workshops, paper sessions, debates and panels)
  • Access to Conference Proceedings
  • Networking opportunities

The cost to attend the conference is $690 for ASHRAE members ($960 for non-members, which includes an ASHRAE membership for one year) for in-person attendees. Additional registration categories including Virtual rates for individuals and groups. Tickets for tours, select social events, and ASHRAE Learning Institute Courses can be purchased during the registration process.

The ASHRAE Ventilation 2022: 13th International Industrial Ventilation Conference for Contaminant Control will immediately precede the ASHRAE Annual Conference at the same location, June 22-24. Interested attendees can register for both events at ashrae.org/2022annual at the discounted rate of $995.
