The 10th edition of the ATMOsphere America Summit will feature a discussion of the U.S. federal and state phase downs of powerful climate-warming gases known as hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs).
The summit will take place in two parts. Part one is online, free to attend, and taking place on November 3, 2021. The second part will take place as an in-person event in Washington, D.C., in June 2022 (date tbc). The in-person event in DC will feature an expanded program with industrial and commercial case studies. Attendees will need to register and pay for the in-person event.
ATMOsphere America is organized by shecco, a Brussels, Belgium-based accelerator of natural refrigerant and clean cooling technologies.
At both parts of the conference, key representatives will discuss the latest developments in the rollout of the American Innovation and Manufacturing
(AIM) Act of 2020, which will phase down the production and consumption of HFCs. Topics will also include state-level HFC phase downs, Canadian regulations, and the adoption of standards impacting natural refrigerants in North America.
ATMOsphere America will also address the impact of hydrofluoroolefins (HFOs) – the latest generation of fluorinated refrigerants – on health, safety and the environment, and the need to use natural refrigerants instead.
The combined conference is expected to attract attendees from all over North America, including end users, policy makers, manufacturers, researchers, academia, NGOs, associations, media and consultants.
Other topics in the program include:
• Keynote presentation
• Natural refrigerant technology trends
• Market mega trends
• Interview with Hillphoenix
• End user and contractor panel discussion
• Commercial and industrial refrigeration case study sessions
• Training
• Utilities and incentives
• HVAC and heat pumps
