At the end of September BITZER already presented its new Refrigerant Report, which traditionally appears every two years at Chillventa. Next to refrigerants, the specialist for refrigeration and air conditioning technology also places great emphasis on energy efficiency and user-friendliness at the digital trade fair.

This is BITZER: broadly positioned and sustainable. Alternative refrigerants, energy efficiency, services and intelligent solutions are among the company’s greatest priorities. The specialist for refrigeration and air conditioning technology offers the right technology for every application and almost every refrigerant –first and foremost in the context of legal regulations such as the Ecodesign Directive and F-gas Regulation and with a focus on maximum efficiency.

New Refrigerant Report

Proof of this expertise is, among other things, the BITZER Refrigerant Report, which is being published every other year – this year already in its 21st edition. This is also why everything at BITZER revolved around the topic of refrigerants on 29 and 30 September: BITZER gathered four of its refrigerant experts for public live discussions in German and English. Interested parties were able to participate via live streams and ask their questions. The new issue is available as a pdf and in digital form at https://www.bitzer-refrigerantreport.com/.

BITZER is presenting a world premiere at this year’s Chillventa eSpecial for CO2 as a refrigerant: the BITZER CKHE7 CO2 compressor enables system manufacturers to build large capacity systems with a smaller number of compressors. CKHE7 is the extension of the proven BITZER CKHE5 series of reciprocating compressors. The difference: it is designed for the high cooling capacities of industrial refrigeration with CO2as a refrigerant. Also meant for CO2 is WGC, anew family of shell and tube heat exchangers with several sizes and lengths which can typically be used in commercial and light industrial refrigeration. This heat exchanger concept can be used as a gas cooler, a heat recovery exchanger or a condenser – all in transcritical CO2 applications.

BITZER has decades of experience in the production of components suitable for further refrigerants such as ammonia. With its Ammonia Compressor Packs (ACPs), the company also offers higher cooling capacities, each up to 3 MW (–10/35 °C). BITZER ACPs provide customers with fully assembled, ready-to-use compressor units which can be installed quickly and easily on-site.

Valuable keys to energy efficiency

At Chillventa eSpecial, BITZER also presents its semi-hermetic screw compressor series HS.95. The new and bigger models of the tried-and-tested HS screw compressor series offer significant efficiency improvements of motors and mechanics. They are designed for a wide application range like refrigeration, air conditioning, heat pump and marine systems and can be used both in single and parallel compressor systems. In parallel operation systems with for example four compressors, system displacements of 4,060 m3/h can be reached easily.

The ORBIT range of scroll compressors boasts greater efficiency than ever before – and all of the models are interchangeable and equipped with advanced technologies that adapt to the most diverse circumstances. Soon, BITZER will release its ORBIT FIT 8 model for production. The ORBIT FIT with economiser technology offers increased efficiency and capacity in all HVAC applications, but is especially suitable in high pressure ratio applications like heat pumps. The economised operation also widens the application limits, allowing operation at lower temperatures.

BITZER also presents its powerful SQD shell and tube evaporators on the occasion of the Chillventa eSpecial 2020. These unique square evaporators reach the highest efficiency currently achievable for a dry-expansion heat exchanger, featuring a patented design that includes a high-technology refrigerant distribution system and a specially developed water flow pattern.

User-friendliness: one fits all

The ECOLITE 2.0 series of condensing units is now available within the BITZER Distribution Network. Its main new features include the approval for the refrigerants of the safety group A2L (R1234ze/yf, R455A and R454C) and new functions inside the controller (for example the oil return function) supporting reliable and efficient operation. One of their great advantages is that each of the seven models can be used for various refrigerants and different applications in all climate zones – for example in cold stores, petrol stations and corner shops. Thanks to its plug-and-play concept, users enjoy the option of quick installation with all ECOLITE models. Furthermore, the commissioning can be easily done via the user-friendly controller with a display and connectivity to the BEST software. The design of the condensing units ensures that their components are easily accessible and can be serviced quickly, if necessary.
