The Turkish Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Manufacturers Association (İSKİD) hosted its Air Conditioning Summit on May 5 at the Hilton Bosphorus Convention Centre in Istanbul, bringing together over 400 participants from across the HVACR industry, including ministry officials, architects and academics. Eurovent Certification attended as a silver sponsor, exhibitor, and speaker, highlighting the role of product certification in the Turkish market.
The summit opened with remarks from İSKİD Chairman of the Board Tunc Korun, who addressed sector challenges and the importance of collaboration amid climate-related industry changes. The program featured four sessions covering topics such as exports, international trade, sector statistics, carbon border mechanisms, F-Gas, Eco-Design criteria, testing, certification, and green incentives in both Turkey and Europe.
A key session titled “If we had an independent test laboratory” was moderated by Arel Arsoy, ISKID member and President of the EAK - Eurovent Mirror Committee AHU Working Group. Panellists included Sylvain Courtey, President of Eurovent Certification; Volkan Erginer, President of TSE Marmara Regional Laboratories Group; and Emre Kandemir, Vice President of the EAK - Eurovent Mirror Committee AHU Working Group.
Volkan Erginer announced a new protocol signed in early 2025 between TSE and Eurovent Certification for the ductless fan coil product group, enabling manufacturers to conduct testing at TSE laboratories under the Eurovent programme. Sylvain Courtey presented details of the certification process and its benefits, while Emre Kandemir emphasized the significance of product quality certification.
