The Pressure Equipment Directive is one of the key directives that must be complied with for CE-marking of pressure equipment including refrigeration systems that are put into service or on the market in the EU.
The directive itself and the supporting harmonised standards apply to all EU member states.
With the exit of the UK from the EU, the PED will no longer apply (after a transition period). The new UK regulations are already in place, and new system of approval and marking of machinery and pressure equipment has been established. Within this system, there are differences between the requirements for Great Britain and for Northern Ireland.
Toby Read of HPi Verification Services will outline the changes in the regulations and what the requirements are for movement of goods between EU and Northern Ireland and Great Britain.
The presentation will include
- A brief overview of the Pressure Equipment Directive,
- The CE Mark – what it means
- The UK replacement for the EU CE Mark
- NI and GB – the new rules in the two jurisdictions,
- The transition period that allows the use of the pre-Brexit rules,
- The final date for compliance with the new rules
The presentation will be of interest to refrigeration and air conditioning engineers, designers, refrigeration contractors, pipe installers, mechanical services companies, and technical personnel. This webinar is free to attend to all IRI members and interested parties.
