The National Frozen & Refrigerated Foods Association (NFRA) reported record attendance at its 2025 Convention, held October 2025 at the Orlando World Center Marriott, drawing nearly 2,000 industry professionals. The event featured over 7,000 business meetings and introduced new initiatives, including the First Penguin Leadership Program, aimed at supporting future leaders in the frozen and refrigerated foods sector.
The three-day event included the Taste of Excellence reception, where around 50 manufacturers and emerging brands showcased their products. Notable recognitions were presented, such as the Golden Penguin Awards, which honored marketing and merchandising achievements across multiple categories and companies, including Mrs. T’s Pierogies, Land O’Lakes, Weis Markets, and Schraad Sales & Marketing.
The inaugural First Penguin Leadership Program recognized 30 early-career professionals for completing a year-long development initiative. During the Monday breakfast session, participants delivered team presentations addressing industry challenges like household penetration, supply chain resilience, and retail innovation.
Joey Bates of Harris Teeter and Tom Robaczewski of Bimbo Bakeries USA were inducted into the Refrigerated Food Hall of Fame. The Penguin Pitch Competition awarded CVT Soft Serve as Emerging Brand of the Year, while Frönen, Jesse & Ben’s, and Actual Veggies received honors for promotional campaigns and product design.
NFRA also held its 81st Annual Membership Luncheon to elect new officers and Board members for the 2025–2026 term.
“The energy, engagement, and collaboration we saw this year reflect the strength of our industry,” said Tricia Greyshock, President & CEO of NFRA. “These conversations and connections are what move the frozen and refrigerated categories forward.”
The 2026 NFRA Convention is scheduled for October 17–20 at the Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center in National Harbor, Maryland. Registration opens March 1, 2026.
