"Refrigeration is increasingly sustainable because one of the great concerns of the cold sector is the environment”. Roberto Solsona, president of AEFYT, highlighted in the opening session of Tecnofrío 2020 the sector's commitment to protecting the Planet, which has been one of the great lines of argument of this Congress, developed virtually on September 30 and October 1.
The main challenges have to do, precisely, with energy efficiency, the need to introduce renewable energies in the production of cold or the migration towards refrigerants with less or no Potential for Atmospheric Warming, assured the president of the Association of Cold Companies and their Technologies, which is part of the Congress organization.
The great advances that this sector is making in this matter are obscured by the serious economic situation that, derived from the Covid-19 pandemic, we are going through. For this reason, Roberto Solsona appealed to “be imaginative in the stimuli required for investment”And that, therefore, innovation and the creation of stable employment, two of the great strengths of the cold sector, do not stop. All this taking into account what most of the speakers stressed: the essentiality of the cold sector in advanced societies. In fact, Solsona sent a message of hope in the investigation of the vaccine against the Covid-19 virus and stressed that, once it is achieved, "It will be the turn of our sector because we have the enormous responsibility of sustaining the cold chain that will ensure the viability of the distribution of the vaccine throughout the world.”.
