Editorial policy

Editorial policy

Refindustry covers the refrigeration and HVAC-R industry: refrigeration, air conditioning and heat pumps, together with refrigerants, the cold chain, energy efficiency and the regulation that shapes them. This page explains what we publish, how we decide, and how we separate editorial content from commercial content.

Editorial independence

Editorial coverage cannot be bought. Being a partner does not guarantee publication, and not being a partner does not prevent it. Every submission is judged on the same editorial criteria.

What we publish

New refrigeration and HVAC-R technologies, and product launches with technical specifications.

Industrial and commercial cooling projects with concrete detail: capacity, refrigerant, location and scale, where the project is large scale or first of its kind.

Refrigerants, standards and regulation, including changes in European and international rules.

Mergers, acquisitions and significant corporate developments in the HVAC-R sector.

Market research and studies with concrete findings.

Interviews and expert analysis produced on our own initiative.

What we do not publish as editorial

Corporate public relations without engineering substance: awards, certifications and announcements of pride.

Generic HVAC content with no clear refrigeration relevance.

Material without technical depth or measurable detail.

Announcements of exhibition participation with no specific product launch or technical development.

Standalone ventilation, building management systems without a cooling core, fire suppression and heating-only controls, which fall outside our scope.

Case studies from manufacturers and system integrators, which we treat as commercial content and publish in our special editions. The exception is a project that is genuinely large scale, record scale or first of its kind, which may qualify as news.

Commercial content

Sponsored articles, case studies in special editions, partner announcements and banner placements are commercial. They are clearly identifiable as such and are never presented as independent editorial judgement.

Corrections

If we publish something inaccurate, we correct it. Write to info@refindustry.com with the article link and the correction, and we will review it.

Submissions

Press releases, news and article proposals go to info@refindustry.com. If your company is not yet listed in the Global Refrigeration Directory, we will ask you to add a profile so that published material can link to it. A listing is free.

We produce interviews on our own initiative and do not accept externally commissioned interviews.

Use of AI

We use software tools to help monitor industry sources and prepare drafts. Editorial decisions, verification and final text are the responsibility of our editors.
