PU Europe General Assembly elects new President

The General Assembly of PU Europe, the rigid polyurethane foam insulation federation, took place in Mechelen (Belgium) on 21st October 2016. At the meeting Richard Burnley, Managing Director at Kingspan Insulation Britain & Ireland, was appointed as new President for the years 2017 and 2018. He will be supported by Diane Daems from Huntsman, and Hervé Fellmann from Soprema, acting as Vice-Presidents.

Kay Hennekens, owner of Nestaan, current President of PU Europe says: “after four years at the helm of the association, time has come to hand over the reins. Over my two mandates I have witnessed the continuous growth of our sector association and its increased reputation for centre of excellence. I am confident Richard will maintain that level and help move the organisation to new height." The General Assembly also reported on the COP 21 agreement which now more than ever provides the political space for more ambitious building renovation efforts in Europe. PU Europe and its constituent members will continue calling the European Commission to ensure that the Near Zero Energy Building vision is rolled out in the forthcoming pieces of legislation, and in particular in the revised Energy Performance of Buildings Directive.
