The board of directors of the AICVF, the association of engineers and technicians in climate, ventilation and refrigeration, unanimously elected its new president on Thursday, January 12: Frank Hovorka thus succeeds Michel Duclos.
Frank Hovorka began his career in 1990 in the construction sector, joining construction giant Vinci a few years later. He held various positions there, including one based in Eastern Europe – mainly in the Czech Republic and Hungary – where he worked with a team specializing in office buildings, retail and hotels. In 1997, he joined the Caisse des Dépôts et Consignations to hold the position of technical director of the property management subsidiary based in Prague (Czech Republic). At this time, he also participated in the creation of the facility management subsidiary as financial manager.
In 2000, he returned to France to work at the Warehouses of General Stores in Paris (EMGP) as operational manager. EMGP is a real estate company that owns more than 400,000 m² of tertiary assets. He has participated in the development of several tertiary buildings in recent years focused on sustainable development (offices, data center, TV studios), including a 40,000 m² “green” shopping mall project. In 2005, he piloted the first office building certified “green building” by Certivea.
In January 2007, he joined the management of the real estate developer Icade as head of the development of tertiary buildings, particularly in Germany. He is also involved in research projects on zero-energy buildings. Then Technical and Innovation Director of the Federation of Real Estate Developers of France (FPI), Frank Hovorka was President for three years of the Rehva Federation (Federation of European Heating and Air-conditioning Association). In June 2021, he was also elected president of buildingSMART France.
