ACCA Urges Immediate Adoption of Legislation

The Air Conditioning Contractors of America (ACCA), President and Chief Executive Officer, Barton James issued the following statement urging Congress to adopt legislation to aid workers and businesses impacted by coronavirus:

"The time for partisanship is over. Small businesses, in particular America’s HVACR contractors, need immediate action from the federal government to ensure businesses stay open and that they can pay their employees. Contractors need assistance to reduce the potential for future layoffs, and they don’t need partisan fights that hold up essential tools that will help them maintain their operations and pay their workers.”

"ACCA appreciates the leadership from senators who have been involved in these negotiations and urge swift action to advance this emergency stimulus package. Every hour that Congress delays action, the risk increases for ACCA member companies to shutter, and more Americans will fall into unemployment. We cannot, and should not, allow this to happen. We urge Congress to act in a bipartisan manner to work out any remaining differences on this legislation and pass the bill without delay."
