AHRI Releases January 2022 U.S. Heating and Cooling Equipment Shipment Data

Central Air Conditioners and Air-Source Heat Pumps U.S. shipments of central air conditioners and air-source heat pumps totaled 757,278 units in January 2022, up 10.4 percent from 685,926 units shipped in January 2021. U.S. shipments of air conditioners increased 5.6 percent, to 431,835 units, up from 408,831 units shipped in January 2021. U.S. shipments of air-source heat pumps increased 17.4 percent, to 325,443 units, up from 277,095 units shipped in January 2021.
