CAREL Adriatic honoured by City of Labin

Saturday 17 August saw celebrations in the town of Labin, Croatia, as the local authorities celebrated Labin Town Day together with a wide range of guests from nearby towns and Labin’s twinned cities. The illustrious guestlist included Member of the European Parliament Valter Flego, Mayor of Pula Boris Miletić, various Istrian political figures and representatives from Italy.

As part of the celebrations, CAREL Adriatic was presented with The City of Labin Annual Award in recognition of its efforts to invest in the development of its employees, as well as its close ties with the local community and other stakeholders. Indeed, in the space of just a few years in Labin, CAREL has hired around 150 employees and gone on to take a keen interest in their training and professional development. The company has also played a key role in bringing other Italian companies to the area, donated funds to expand the local pre-school and launched a partnership with the local secondary school.

"The town of Labin now plays a leading role in the development of social enterprise in Istria," said Mayor of Labin Valter Glavičić. "All the signs show that the town is experiencing strong economic growth and leading the fight to reduce unemployment. By giving this award to CAREL, we wanted to highlight the company’s work in the community and the positive example they set in the local area."
