Carlyle Compressor Introduces New, Faster CARWIN Selection Program with Increased Capabilities

Carlyle Compressor is delivering on customer demand for an accessible, easier to use compressor specification and selection tool. The long established CARWIN software program has been updated and is now available online. Designed to adapt to any device, CARWIN runs faster and includes more tools and options than ever before. Carlyle Compressor is a part of Carrier, a leading global provider of innovative heating, ventilating and air conditioning (HVAC), refrigeration, fire, security and building automation technologies.

“We listened to the feedback from our current CARWIN users,” said Matt Mowers, application engineer, Carlyle. “The new online program not only runs calculations faster, it also makes it faster to access performance data, technical data, and related documents and drawings.”

The program can also help refrigeration system designers make informed decisions about refrigerant selection and the corresponding global warming potential (GWP) of refrigerants. “The new CARWIN program now has many of the most popular lower GWP refrigerants for our compressors, including ammonia (R-717) for our 5H open-drive reciprocating compressor family,” said Steve Holden, manager of application engineering, Carlyle. “CARWIN also includes features like a Refrigerant Retrofit Tool for quick comparisons of multiple refrigerants. This information can be very useful when looking for lower GWP refrigerants”.
