Emerson Announces Departure of Commercial & Residential Solutions Executive President

Emerson announced that Robert T. Sharp, executive president of its Commercial & Residential Solutions business, is leaving the organization as he pursues new opportunities.

Sharp, a member of the Office of the Chief Executive, joined Emerson in 1996. He has served in a wide range of senior corporate and business level leadership roles, including director of investor relations, vice president of profit planning, and president of Europe for Automation Solutions. Sharp most recently served as executive president for Emerson's Commercial & Residential Solutions business since February of 2016.

During his tenure, Sharp successfully navigated many operating challenges including the 2008/2009 financial crisis as well as the current COVID-19 pandemic. He has also been a key voice in Emerson's work to unify values and purpose across the company. Sharp has played an active role in the company's Diversity and Inclusion efforts, including serving as executive sponsor of Emerson's Blacks Reinforcing Diversity Employee Resource Group.

“Bob used his considerable talents to make a significant impact throughout his career at Emerson, serving in critical roles both in our U.S. headquarters and across the globe,” said Emerson Chairman and CEO David N. Farr. “His contributions are many, and we wish him well in his future endeavors.”

A new Commercial & Residential Solutions leader will be announced in the coming weeks.
