Pelican BioThermal, the global name in temperature controlled packaging, announces the opening of a new service center in Tokyo. The new facility will service reusable Credo Cube parcel shippers, including refurbishment and repair. It will also serve as an additional network station for the company’s rapidly expanding Crēdo on Demand rental program, which offers a high performance, flexible rental option for temperature controlled pallet shippers, with global reach.

“Japan remains the world’s second-largest pharmaceutical market, behind the United States and China tied for first, making Tokyo a logical fit for our next service center.” explained Dominic Hyde, vice president of Crēdo on Demand. “With an aging population to consider, Japan has recently accelerated approvals of new drugs, a change that will influence many aspects of the life science cold chain in Asia, including the need for temperature controlled packaging, like that serviced in our new Tokyo facility.”

A grand opening event will be held on May 11 to mark the official launch of the new facility, which is one of 12 new Credo on Demand network station openings scheduled for 2018. Other key locations include the recently opened San Diego Service Center with additional facilities to be unveiled in Seoul, Basel, Dublin, Toronto, Frankfurt, Tel Aviv, Indianapolis and others to be named.

In addition to serving as a network station for the company’s Crēdo on Demand rental program, the new Tokyo service center will provide a variety of options for Pelican BioThermal customers, including conditioning and end of rental drop-off. The company also plans to launch over 50 drop points throughout 2018, for end of rental drop-off of their passive temperature controlled containers (including Crēdo Cargo and Crēdo Xtreme) at new locations spanning Europe, Asia and the Americas.

The latest location complements the existing and expanding network stations servicing key hubs for pharmaceutical manufacturing and transfer activities and is available to customers worldwide.
