On September 1, 2025, fan manufacturer ebm‑papst began training 76 new trainees and dual students at its locations in Mulfingen, Landshut, and St. Georgen, Germany. The company offers 28 different apprenticeships and dual study programs in administrative and industrial-technical fields, with a focus on hands-on experience and international integration.
In total, 48 young professionals started in Mulfingen, 14 in Landshut, and 14 in St. Georgen. ebm‑papst currently employs 235 trainees and students across its German sites, including 158 in Mulfingen—around 20 of whom come from international backgrounds. Training areas range from production and assembly to commercial processes and IT projects. Part-time training is also available in Landshut.
To address the growing shortage of skilled workers and the effects of demographic change, the company is expanding programs like “Ausbildung Plus 1,” which supports refugees and migrants with an additional training year and a focus on language skills.
The introductory weeks at all three locations include company tours, occupational safety sessions, team-building events, and workshops on topics such as healthy eating, sustainability, and diversity. In Mulfingen, highlights include the Highland Games in Schwäbisch Hall and a closing barbecue. Landshut’s program features a hiking day, while St. Georgen includes a factory rally and workshops on media use and professional etiquette.
“It is extremely important to us to challenge and encourage young people, to give them the support they need, but also, and in particular, to trust them and let them ‘do their thing’ independently,” said Dr. Sonja Fleischer, CHRO of the ebm‑papst Group. “With various projects… and our offerings such as the Energy Scouts or stays abroad… we support the independent action and learning of our trainees and dual students.”
