Frascold and Tecnofreddo join forces for eco-friendly heating solutions

High-temperature heat pumps are increasingly proving essential for the future of the heating sector, with a focus on energy efficiency and environmental sustainability.

In response to these challenges, Frascold and Tecnofreddo have combined their technical expertise to develop a high-temperature heat pump designed to merge energy efficiency, high performance and environmental responsibility.

At the core of this new technology are Frascold’s semi-hermetic ATEX-HT series compressors, specifically designed to operate with R290 at high temperatures while ensuring maximum efficiency. This achievement has been made possible thanks to the LSPM (Line Start Permanent Magnet) electric motor, which ensures a significant 6% increase in efficiency and combines the benefits of both induction and permanent magnet motors.

Specifically, the high-temperature heat pump is designed to operate at temperatures up to 80°C, making it ideal for industrial applications with the added benefits of lower energy consumption and compliance with environmental regulations. Among the sectors that can benefit from this solution are the food industry (in processes such as sterilization and pasteurization), the pharmaceutical sector (for controlled heating applications), and the HVAC/R sector for large buildings and data centers.

The new heat pump is the result of meticulous design and a careful integration of advanced technologies, such as high-efficiency heat exchangers and Frascold compressors managed by inverters. This combination delivers a superior COP compared to traditional solutions, significantly reducing energy consumption and improving overall efficiency. Moreover, the ability to reach high operating temperatures opens the door to new application opportunities.
