ICR 2019

International Congress of Refrigeration 2019

The 25th IIR International Congress of Refrigeration will be held under the theme of “Refrigeration for Human Health and Future Prosperity”, and will focus on the current issues we are all facing: energy saving and energy efficiency, food supply, health, reduction of global warming and the protection of the ozone layer.

The event will take place in Montreal, Canada from August 24-30, 2019. Montreal is the city where the original Montreal Protocol on substances that deplete the ozone layer (such as CFCs and HFCs) was signed in 1987. The adoption of this protocol by 196 countries in 2009 put refrigeration technologies at the core of energy and environmental concerns for humanity.

This big and magnificent international event, hosted by the International Institute of Refrigeration (IIR), occurs every four years. It will be held for the second time in the last hundred years at the Palais des congrès de Montréal, situated in the downtown core, just a stones-throw from Old Montreal.

The scientific and industry communities of Canada and the United States will proudly host this Congress and take this unique opportunity to invite international colleagues to come present their latest product development and research, both theoretically and experimentally, in all areas of refrigeration, air conditioning, and sustainable building.

The ICR 2019 Congress wishes to also invite young researchers and students and to give them the chance to showcase the fruits of their research.
