The global pump market is projected to grow from USD 65 billion in 2025 to USD 88.36 billion by 2031, according to Arizton Advisory & Intelligence. The forecast represents a compound annual growth rate of 5.25%, supported by investments in water and wastewater infrastructure, industrial manufacturing and energy-efficient pumping solutions.
Demand is also increasing for smart pumps and digital technologies. IoT-enabled systems with predictive maintenance, remote monitoring and smart diagnostics are being adopted to improve equipment reliability, reduce downtime and optimize lifecycle costs.
Traditional sectors such as chemicals, mining and oil and gas remain major sources of demand. Semiconductor manufacturing, data centers, hydrogen production and battery manufacturing are creating additional requirements for pumps used in precision fluid handling, cooling and advanced manufacturing processes.
In 2025, Wilo introduced the Wilo-Stratos GIGA2.0-I smart vertical in-line pump for HVAC and industrial applications. Grundfos patented its next-generation DDA Smart Digital Dosing pump, while Flowserve introduced a double hermetically sealed sealless magnetic drive pump with an independent secondary containment system.
APAC accounted for more than 40% of global pump market revenue in 2025, supported by investments in water infrastructure, irrigation and urban development. In Europe, demand is growing for pumping systems equipped with variable-speed drives, intelligent controls and digital monitoring as industries upgrade infrastructure and seek greater energy efficiency.
