ASHRAE has awarded 47 Society scholarships totaling $225,200 for the 2026-2027 academic year. The scholarships recognize students pursuing careers in engineering and the built environment.
Junhyuk (Harry) Lee, a mechanical engineering student at the University of Manitoba, received the $12,500 ASHRAE Presidents Scholarship. Awarded over two years, the scholarship supports an undergraduate engineering student preparing for a career in HVAC or refrigeration.
Other awards ranged from $3,000 to $10,000 and included scholarships for students studying mechanical, architectural, electrical, automotive and nuclear engineering, as well as building science and heating, refrigeration and air conditioning technology.
ASHRAE has also consolidated the scholarship program’s previous May 1 and December 1 application deadlines into a single deadline of April 1.

Maston, P.E., BCxP, LEED AP BD+C. “By investing in these students today, ASHRAE is helping develop the engineers and innovators who will create healthier, more resilient and more sustainable buildings for communities around the world.”
