Danfoss divests Appliance Controls to form Frion Group in Slovakia

Danfoss Climate Solutions has agreed to divest its Appliance Controls business to Danfoss leaders Andrej Debnar and Peter Haas, who will establish Frion Group. The business manufactures electromechanical thermostats and temperature control solutions for refrigeration and appliance applications.

Frion Group will continue the activities of Appliance Controls, building on more than 70 years of expertise. The agreement is intended to provide continuity for customers, employees and suppliers while preserving the business’s expertise in refrigeration and appliance control solutions.

All 64 Appliance Controls employees will transfer to Frion Group, together with the facilities, production equipment and operations in Zlaté Moravce, Slovakia. The Slovakian operation marked 20 years of operations in 2025.

The divestment comes as Controls and Thermal Management, a division of Danfoss Climate Solutions, focuses on its core portfolio and strategic priorities. Danfoss expects the transaction to be completed by the end of November 2026, with Frion Group assuming operations from December 1, 2026.

“Appliance Controls has a strong foundation, loyal customers, and a highly capable team. Peter and I are committed to building on that legacy. Our priority is continuity. Customers can expect the same trusted products, the same commitment to quality, and the same dedicated people behind the business,” said Andrej Debnar, future co-owner of Frion Group.
