ebm-papst Expands AxiBlade Series with New Fans for Refrigeration and HVAC

The EC-driven models deliver airflow up to 58,000 m³/h and support MODBUS integration for demand-based control and predictive maintenance.

ebm-papst Expands AxiBlade Series with New Fans for Refrigeration and HVAC

ebm-papst has introduced two new axial fan models, the 1030 mm AxiBlade.S.Perform and the 1250 mm AxiBlade.S, for refrigeration, HVAC, and data center cooling applications. Unveiled at Chillventa, the models are designed to combine high airflow capacity, energy efficiency, and reduced noise levels in chillers, condensers, and recoolers.

The 1030 mm (40.6 in) AxiBlade.S.Perform uses a single-blade design with composite blades mounted on a hub ring. Blade angles can be configured at the factory to match specific airflow, pressure, efficiency, and acoustic requirements. The fan delivers up to 50,000 m³/h (approximately 29,400 CFM) in free-blowing conditions or 32,000 m³/h (approximately 18,800 CFM) at 330 Pa (1.33 in. w.g.).

The larger 1250 mm (49.2 in) AxiBlade.S extends the single-blade concept to higher airflow applications, delivering up to 58,000 m³/h (approximately 34,100 CFM) in free-blowing conditions or 41,000 m³/h (approximately 24,100 CFM) at 150 Pa (0.60 in. w.g.). Unlike the AxiBlade.S.Perform, which uses a composite wall ring, the AxiBlade.S features a sheet metal wall ring with a protective cage. Applications include large chillers, condensers, recoolers, data centers, greenhouses, livestock barns, and transformer cooling.

Both models are available with EC motors rated up to 8 kW (approximately 10.7 hp) and operating temperature ranges from −40 °C to +70 °C (−40 °F to +158 °F), depending on the model. Passive or active power factor correction is available. A standard MODBUS interface enables integration with ebm-papst’s NEXAIRA digital ecosystem for operational data monitoring, demand-based control, and predictive maintenance.

According to ebm-papst, the expanded AxiBlade series meets the requirements of the Ecodesign Directive and Fan Regulation (ErP 2026). The company also provides OEMs with support for documentation, verification, and certification.
