The IOR Industry Skills Alliance is working with Skills England on assessment reform for the Refrigeration, Air Conditioning and Heat Pump Engineering Technician apprenticeship standard (ST0322). The Alliance will gather industry feedback and represent employer perspectives during the reform process.
Members have received information about the assessment reform and opportunities to contribute. Discussions will focus on developing an assessment plan based on the existing knowledge, skills and behaviours in the standard, while considering the three mandatory qualifications currently included in the apprenticeship.
The Alliance brings together employers, training providers and other stakeholders from across the RACHP sector. Membership is free and provides opportunities to contribute to apprenticeship reform and other workforce development initiatives, including career pathways, progression routes for new and experienced entrants, and STEM outreach activities.
Through online working groups and in-person events, the Industry Skills Alliance has supported the development of new STEM outreach materials and workforce progression and upskilling strategies.
The next in-person Industry Skills Alliance meeting is scheduled for 24 September in London.
