Malco Tools has expanded its MalcoEdge line for HVAC and refrigeration professionals with 15 new SKUs, including A2L- and A3-ready core removal tools, nitrogen purge and regulator tools, a gasket picker and ratcheting flare nut torque wrenches. The additions target HVACR installation, evacuation, refrigerant recovery, nitrogen pressure testing, purging, brazing and service applications.
The new core removal tools are vacuum-rated to 20 microns and feature magnetic knobs. The Hi-Flow Core Removal Tool Dual Valve with Sight Glass (CRT2Y) uses a Y-shaped dual-valve body with a clear sight glass and independent valves, allowing a vacuum gauge and hose to remain connected simultaneously while either side is isolated. The CRT1 and CRT3 models connect to ¼-inch (6.35 mm) and 5/16-inch (7.94 mm) service ports, respectively, for valve core removal during evacuation and recovery.
The nitrogen range includes the Nitrogen Purge Tool (NPT), Nitrogen Regulator (NRHD) and Nitrogen Purge Kit (NPK1). The NPT provides purge, braze and off settings for controlling nitrogen flow during brazing, while the NRHD is designed for pressure control during pressure testing, leak checking and brazing preparation. The NPK1 combines both tools in a protective case.
MalcoEdge has also added mechanical ratcheting flare nut torque wrenches pre-set for ¼-inch (6.35 mm), 3/8-inch (9.53 mm), ½-inch (12.7 mm) and 5/8-inch (15.88 mm) flare sizes. The wrenches require no batteries or calibration and are available separately or as a four-tool kit (RTWK). The new Gasket Picker (GP1) is designed to remove worn or damaged gaskets from hoses, fittings and adapters without damaging sealing surfaces.
