AHRI Releases February 2022 U.S. Heating, Cooling Equipment Shipment Data

Central Air Conditioners and Air-Source Heat Pumps U.S. shipments of central air conditioners and air-source heat pumps totaled 730,812 units in February 2022, up 14.6 percent from 637,772 units shipped in February 2021. U.S. shipments of air conditioners increased 16.9 percent, to 424,293 units, up from 363,045 units shipped in February 2021. U.S. shipments of air-source heat pumps increased 11.6 percent, to 306,519 units, up from 274,727 units shipped in February 2021.

Year-to-date combined shipments of central air conditioners and air-source heat pumps increased 12.4 percent, to 1,488,090 units, up from 1,323,698 units shipped during the same period in 2021. Year-to-date shipments of central air conditioners increased 10.9 percent, to 856,128 units, up from 771,876 units shipped during the same period in 2021. The year-to-date total for heat pump shipments increased 14.5 percent, to 631,962, up from 551,822 units shipped during the same period in 2021.
