Carrier China Receives sHero Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Award

At the award ceremony organized by sHero, a non-profit organization focused on empowering women through employment, education and engagement, Carrier China was honored with the “Leading DEI Best Company Award” in the Belonging category for its diversity and inclusion results.

Diversity, equity and inclusion (DE&I) have been championed by businesses worldwide for years and is essential in corporate cultures. Carrier launched a focused Diversity & Inclusion (D&I) strategy around four key pillars: Reduce the Gap, Develop and Sponsor, Drive Inclusion and Lean Forward, creating an environment where everyone feels they belong to realize their full potential.

Women’s empowerment is an important focus at Carrier. Carrier has pledged to achieve gender parity in senior leadership roles by 2030, and in 2020 the company reported 31% of global executives were female. Also, in 2020, Carrier started WE@Carrier (Women’s Empowerment at Carrier), a global employee resource group to develop and accelerate growth of women in the organization, address unique challenges of women in leadership and foster active allyship. More than 2,000 members across Carrier have joined the group, including 300 in China. Diversity workshops were conducted throughout the year, including a mentorship program, the ELEVATE Women in Leadership development program and an International Women’s Day activity, to ensure an inclusive culture.

"It's a great honor for us to win the 2021 Leading DEI Best Company award in the category of belonging," commented Titus Yu, Managing Director of Carrier HVAC North Asia. “Our greatest strength lies in the diversity of our people and their ideas. We aspire to create a workplace that is truly and genuinely inclusive, one that inspires and encourages everyone to bring their authentic selves to work every day. Our ultimate goal is simple – we want each and every Carrier employee to feel like they belong.”
