Copeland Announces Verdant VX3 and ZX Smart Thermostats are now ENERGY STAR Certified

Copeland, a global provider of sustainable climate solutions, announced that its Verdant VX3 and ZX smart thermostats received ENERGY STAR certification in the U.S. and Canada. This certification marks a significant milestone in the company’s commitment to energy efficiency and unlocks new utility rebate opportunities to enhance energy cost savings for building owners.

“Copeland is committed to continue breaking barriers to create the most energy-efficient solutions on the market,” said Michael Serour, VP and GM, Verdant energy management solutions for Copeland. “We’re thrilled to now have another accolade to showcase how our Verdant solutions deliver energy reductions and maximum comfort for our customers in communities across North America.”

Verdant technology is currently trusted by more than 7,000 hotels, multifamily properties, senior living and student housing communities throughout North America. By offering up to 40 percent HVAC runtime reduction savings 1, Verdant energy management solutions help both residents and building owners and operators with environmental and cost benefits.

This new certification expands Copeland’s eligibility to participate in both energy efficiency and demand-side management programs with energy providers across North America. Utilizing the same best-in-class API approach as its residential counterpart (Sensi smart thermostats), properties installed with Verdant technology can drive significant load shift to help reduce stress on the energy grid.

This new certification will also accelerate new construction penetration. With a tie to ENERGY STAR certified buildings and LEED certification initiatives, Verdant energy management solutions will be at the forefront of cutting-edge, sustainable construction projects. This is due, in part, to various government incentives and programs that become available to building owners and investors when they prioritize ENERGY STAR certified buildings.

The Verdant VX3 and ZX smart thermostat ENERGY STAR certification also aligns with Copeland’s goal of stewarding the energy transition across multiple fronts – from accelerating global trends in decarbonization and electrification, to advancing energy management systems that drive efficiency gains, to reducing demand on the grid.
