ebm-papst Wins German Sustainability Award 2024

The ebm-papst Group, a global leader in fans and motors, has secured the German Sustainability Award for the second time, Europe's largest accolade for ecological and social commitment. Winning this year in the "Motors and Turbines" category highlights the group's ongoing dedication to sustainability and its pioneering role in the industry. Previously, ebm-papst was honored in 2013 as one of Germany's most sustainable companies.

Dr. Klaus Geißdörfer, CEO of the ebm-papst Group, expressed his delight at winning the 17th German Sustainability Award: "This award affirms the wholehearted commitment of all our employees to sustainability and our mission of 'Engineering a better life.' It fills me with joy and pride, and we will continue our journey toward a sustainable future. Thank you to the entire ebm-papst team for your dedication, innovative projects and ideas, and to the jury members!"

Beyond continuously improving its technologies, ebm-papst significantly impacts customers and the entire industry with retrofit projects. These projects upgrade existing air-conditioning systems in supermarkets, office buildings, and industrial facilities to the latest technology, resulting in substantial energy savings by replacing old fans with energy-efficient models. An added benefit of these retrofits is reduced noise emissions, crucial in areas where noise pollution is a concern.

ebm-papst is also setting clear targets in its climate strategy, prioritizing the reduction of CO2e emissions. A key goal is achieving climate-neutral production by the fiscal year 2025/26, targeting Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions. The company's sustainability strategy was outlined and documented in a CO2e roadmap by the end of 2021.

Since its inception, ebm-papst has aimed for each new product to surpass its predecessor economically and ecologically, striving to create a better climate for people and the environment. The company's employees work daily to integrate sustainable practices with advanced technologies, offering sustainable and intelligent solutions in air and heating technology.
