FläktGroup appoints David Dorney as CEO after Samsung acquisition

FläktGroup has announced the appointment of David Dorney as its new Chief Executive Officer, effective December 8, 2025. The leadership change follows a year of strategic developments for the Germany-based HVAC company, including its integration into the Samsung Group.

Dorney joined FläktGroup in February 2024 as Chief Sales Officer. During his tenure, he played a key role in the Samsung acquisition process and led several internal initiatives aimed at driving growth and organizational development.

Before joining FläktGroup, Dorney held multiple leadership positions at Johnson Controls, starting in 2000. His most recent role there was Vice President and General Manager of the EMEA Heating and Cooling division, where he led operations across 14 countries and focused on sectors including Life Sciences, Food & Beverage, Manufacturing, and Industrial, along with the region’s sustainability strategy.

The leadership transition follows the departure of outgoing CEO Trevor Young, who has held various roles at FläktGroup over the years. He officially stepped down on December 8, 2025.

“Dave has been an exceptional addition to the team, driving unprecedented growth over the last 2 years. I have confidence in his abilities to succeed in this role,” said Trevor Young.

“It is truly an exciting time to take on the CEO role for FläktGroup. Together with the support of Samsung, we are fully committed to delivering exceptional value for our customers, supporting our partners, and empowering our teams,” said Dorney.
