PDM Analysis and Gamma Technologies to bring integrated software solution for the screw compressor

PDM Analysis announced today a new collaboration with Gamma Technologies to assimilate its capabilities to address complex and diverse challenges in the applications of screw compressors, expanders and pumps modelling. Illinois-based Gamma Technologies, known for GT-SUITE, the leading CAE platform for multi-physics system simulations, will leverage PDM’s expertise on modelling, analysis and design of rotary screw positive displacement machines to expand capacity and influence in the global market. The partnership will more specifically involve integration of GT-SUITE with SCORG, the specialist grid generation and simulation software.

With this partnership, PDM broadens its array of proven applications for the compressor, expander and pump industries but is also looking into expanding in the automotive market where such machines are often used. This collaboration includes a commitment from both parties to work together to create a highly specialised and integrated system solution.

This agreement with Gamma is an important step forward in our business strategy,” said Professor Ahmed Kovacevic, co-founder and Director of PDM Analysis Ltd. “It extends our ability to deploy and support expansion to a wider customer base. We believe the integration of our software and domain expertise, positions both companies to add significant, optimal value to our customers.

“This new partnership with PDM Analysis will result in a very powerful solution for the screw machine simulation community through a highly integrated thermodynamics and multi-physics workflow. This solution, which brings together GT-SUITE and SCORG, is an excellent example of GT’s dedication to serve the growing demands of the compressor design and analysis market” – Iakovos Papadimitriou, Head of Product Development.

The integrated software solution will enable optimized and high-fidelity multi-chamber and system level modelling of screw type machines enhanced with GT-SUITE’s multi-physics modelling for transient fluids, thermal management, friction, lubrication, structural and thermal FE, acoustics, and controls. Its applications will be in screw compressors, expanders, pumps and motors within refrigeration and air conditioning, air applications, oil and gas, process industries, automotive and other related markets.
