Williams Scotland Celebrates 30th Anniversary

In 2024, Williams Refrigeration Scotland, based in Edinburgh, marks its 30th anniversary. The company, which is one of four regional contracting units, delivers expert solutions including site surveys, project management, and the installation of coldrooms for foodservice and specialized applications such as medical, pharmaceutical, and scientific research.

Williams Scotland also excels in providing food retail display equipment, remote refrigeration, and air conditioning systems, complemented by local service and maintenance. Their specialist support ensures coldrooms operate at peak efficiency, maintaining the high standards that have established Williams Refrigeration as an industry leader over the past 45 years.

Since its founding in 1994, Williams Scotland has completed projects at prestigious locations across Scotland and Ireland. These include the Balmoral Estate, Edinburgh Castle, the Scottish Parliament, BBC Scotland’s Glasgow headquarters, numerous universities including St Andrews, sports stadiums like Murrayfield, Windsor Park in Belfast, the Curragh racecourse, Eileen Donan Castle, and Glen Turret, Scotland's oldest whiskey distillery.

Steve Leslie, managing director of the Scottish team, joined Williams in 2004 as contracts manager and became MD in 2016. Under his leadership, the team boasts decades of combined experience. Key team members include contracts manager Adam Tassell, who began as an apprentice 17 years ago, engineering manager Steve Garven with 14 years of service, and longtime staff like service coordinator Claire Styles and sales coordinator Janice Dennington, both with a decade of experience. Engineers such as Gordon McCulloch, Ralph Holmes, Michael Fullerton, and Mark Kirk have been with the company for over a decade, contributing to the team’s vast knowledge and expertise.

“Working with Williams for the past 20 years has been a privilege,” said Steve Leslie. “You never quite know where the next job will take us, which keeps it interesting. We’ve installed coldrooms for kitchens, laboratories, pharmacies, and mortuaries. Offering a 24/7 service with callouts and maintenance visits ensures our equipment remains in excellent shape. Williams makes fantastic products and their world-renowned reputation makes our work easier!”

Tim Smith, Managing Director of Williams, expressed his gratitude: “We are delighted to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Williams Refrigeration Scotland. I would like to thank our colleagues, both past and present, for their outstanding commitment and dedication. Equally, we recognize the loyal support of our customers over these past three decades.”
