Safe Monitoring Group has acquired 100% of the shares in UK-based Protex Systems Ltd, a specialist in industrial gas detection. The transaction closed on 14 September 2026 and makes Protex Systems the 18th company to join Safe Monitoring Group.
Protex Systems supplies industrial fire and gas detection instrumentation, systems and consultancy services for high-hazard sectors including Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Utilities and Power Generation. Its activities include integrated fire and gas systems and bespoke designs tailored to specific site risks.
The acquisition strengthens Safe Monitoring Group’s UK presence and expands its capabilities in design and aftermarket support for flame and gas detection systems. Protex Systems will collaborate with other Group companies in research and development, sales, marketing, procurement and service.
“Joining Safe Monitoring Group is an exciting new chapter for Protex Systems,” said David Orr, CEO and owner of Protex Systems. “We have built a strong business over the past decades, and becoming part of the Group gives us access to new knowledge, resources and international opportunities, while allowing us to continue doing what we do best. Together, we will be in an even stronger position to support our customers and continue developing advanced safety solutions for the future.”
“Protex Systems is exactly the type of company we look for when expanding Safe Monitoring Group. The company combines deep technical expertise with a strong customer focus and an impressive track record in industrial safety,” said Alexander Larsson, CEO of Safe Monitoring Group.
